The port’s operations and safety teams are closely monitoring an approaching winter weather system.  Current forecasts call for precipitation to begin in the morning hours on Wednesday, January 17; concluding by Wednesday evening.  Approximately one inch of snow is expected in Hampton Roads, with two inches forecast for Richmond.


Based on current information, we plan to maintain a business as usual operating posture at all Port of Virginia terminals, for the duration of this event.

The safety of our colleagues, customers and partners is our constant priority.  If conditions change, and terminal operations must be adjusted, we will communicate with you promptly, across multiple platforms.
