The following question was sent in during the May 30th MCC and Stakeholder Virtual Meeting:
Will the POV badge/registration automatically or also be extended to the same date as the TWIC extension and what would the process be if there is one?

Answer:
In short, Yes, POV badge expiration dates will mirror the TWIC expiration.

– Prior to expiration date on the card, the individual is still required to go to one of the following:
– NIT Police Station
– VIG Driver’s Assistance
– VIG Securitas
–  There they will present POV ID & TWIC cards. The cards will be updated with the 180 day extension.
–  As a reminder, the intent of the 180 day extension is to allow for any delays during the renewal process due to Covid-19 closures or reduced work forces. It is not intended for that individual to wait 180 days before starting the renewal process.
–  It will be the individual’s responsibility for the status of their card at the end of the 180 days.
