Cargo volumes are strong and commercial forecasts call for continued growth throughout the summer months. In order to protect service levels, and ensure cargo access, please be advised of the following.

Beginning on Saturday, July 10, and running through Saturday, Sept. 4 (nine consecutive Saturdays):

• Virginia International Gateway (VIG) will open at 0700 hours, with inbound portal closure at 1100 hours
o PRO-PASS TRS mandatory hours will be in effect from 0700 – 1100 hours at VIG
o Reservations will be made available at 0900 hours the proceeding Friday
o No prior day reservation requirement – same day reservations may be made, for all Saturday transactions
• The PPCY empty yard and the Portsmouth Chassis Yard (PCY) will open at 0700 hours, with last trucks in / last units handled at 1130 hours
• Empty returns on Saturdays will be governed by the empty matrix released on the prior Thursday
o Example: The empty matrix, released on Thursday, July 8, will govern the return of empties on Saturday, July 10

Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) and the Reefer Service Area (RSA) will remain closed on Saturdays, per the standard operating plan. Only VIG, the PPCY and the PCY will offer limited Saturday gate hours.
