Wednesday, July 4, 2018, is Independence Day. In celebration of this national holiday, The Port of Virginia will operate as follows:

Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3

• Business as usual – observing posted hours at all terminal facilities and offices
• HARD STOP for all terminal activities at 2359 hours on Tuesday night, July 3

Wednesday, July 4 – Independence Day

• National holiday
• By contract, NO WORK DAY for the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA)
• All Port of Virginia terminals and offices CLOSED

Thursday, July 5

• By rule, truck gates at NIT, PMT, VIG and the PPCY OPEN at 0600 hours (July 5 only)
o TRS mandatory hours are waived at VIG (July 5 only)
o TRS mandatory hours are in place from 0600 – 0900 hours at NIT (July 5 only)
o Truck reservations for the morning of July 5 (NIT) may be made as early as 1700 hours on Monday, July 2
• All other terminals and offices will observe standard operating hours
