Dear Port Partners,

The Port of Virginia will extend the gate hours at Virginia International Gateway (VIG) until 9 p.m. for the next three nights: Wednesday, March 11; Thursday, March 12; and Friday, March 13. This is being done to help alleviate the weather-driven cargo back-ups that have beset the terminal for last several days. Additionally, VIG will have gate hours on Sunday, March 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the terminal will observe normal Saturday gate hours as well. The PPCY hours will mirror those of VIG March 11-15.

The portal will close at 8 p.m. on March 11, 12 and 13 and at 4 p.m. on March 14 and 15.

Cargo owners, logistics planners and motor carriers are encouraged to utilize Norfolk International Terminals (NIT), if at all possible. Gate volumes at NIT have been very light-to-moderate during the last several days. As always we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this situation.

Sincerely,
Joe
