Port Partners,

Mindful of Hurricane Florence’s impact on cargo movements, and in the interest of fairness and accessibility, The Port of Virginia announces the following:

• During terminal closures, terminal free time on loaded containers will be extended for the duration of the closure
• All charges related to the storage of empty containers on Port of Virginia facilities will be waived during the closure
• Please contact your ocean carrier for their free time and demurrage policies related to your specific cargo movements
o Per diem charges, for containers outside our terminals, must be pursued directly with the ocean carrier
• For HRCPII chassis charges, relief will be considered on a case-by-case basis
o To inquire regarding relief on chassis usage charges, send an email to disputes@hrcp2.org

Thank you for your business. We are doing all that we can to safeguard facilities and cargo.

Be vigilant and be safe.
