The TMTA would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Borum family for the loss of their father, Moe.
Portsmouth – Marion L. “MOE” Borum, returned to his Heavenly home on March 30th, 2017. Moe was born November 10th, 1925 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Rachel Elizabeth Wood and William Henry Borum. He is predeceased by his parents and two older brothers, Charlie and Bill. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in presence of his wife and family. Moe was retired from Civil Service after 40 years and a World War II US Navy Veteran. He was viewed as one of the last members of the Greatest Generation serving in WWII in the Pacific. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 41 for 60 years and recently received the DAV Eagle Award. He is also a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Moe was a loving husband of 70 years to his wife, Frances, and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Frances and children, John (Gay), Frank (Robyne), Rachel (Earl), and Craig (Jen). Moe is also survived by grandchildren, Earl, Josh, Lauren, John and Alexis, as well as six great grandchildren, a special niece, Betty Ann Covey, and cousin, Bob Wood, who was like a brother.

Moe was an extraordinary man who kept Family at the core of his values.

As a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he was the center of a large extended family and took pride in keeping everyone close.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated services of Dr. Kevin Wilson and the nurses of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Bon Secours for their kindness, compassion, and spiritual support to our Father and family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Tuesday, April 4th 2017 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth, VA. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the Mass starting at10am at the church. Burial will follow with U.S. Navy Honors at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth, Virginia.
