On Wednesday, August 11 and September 2, we announced that the current Saturday gate program will be extended, Sept. 11, and running through Saturday, Nov. 20 (eleven consecutive Saturdays)

Cargo volumes are strong and commercial forecasts call for continued growth throughout the summer months. In order to protect service levels, and ensure cargo access, please be advised of the following.
• Virginia International Gateway (VIG) will open at 0700 hours, with inbound portal closure at 1100 hours
• PRO-PASS TRS mandatory hours will be in effect from 0700 – 1100 hours at VIG
• Reservations will be made available at 0900 hours the proceeding Friday
• No prior day reservation requirement – same day reservations may be made, for all Saturday transactions
• The PPCY empty yard and the Portsmouth Chassis Yard (PCY) will open at 0700 hours, with last trucks in / last units handled at 1130 hours
• Empty returns on Saturdays will be governed by the empty matrix released on the prior Thursday
• Example: The Empty Return Matrix for Monday, Sept. 13 (released on Thursday, Sept. 9) will govern empty returns for Saturday, Sept. 11
• NIT specific empties will need to be returned on Monday, Sept. 13
Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) and the Reefer Service Area (RSA) will remain closed on Saturdays, per the standard operating plan. Only VIG, the PPCY and the PCY will offer limited Saturday gate hours.

Gate hours at Newport News Marine Terminal (NNMT), Richmond Marine Terminal (RMT) and the Virginia Inland Port (VIP) will remain unchanged.
