The Port of Virginia remains open today despite high wind conditions. Lift operations at NIT, PMT and PPCY have been halted, waiting on winds to decrease. VIG is still lifting but at a very reduced capacity.

If you have a driver on port that wishes to leave before their mission is complete, please have them go to drivers assistance and have their transaction cancelled. No motor carrier or cargo owner should be billed for this activity.

Due to SEVERE decrease in productivity, motor carriers and cargo owners should be able to dispute demurrage and per diem charges.

Please be very careful out there. There is an unofficial report of a container being blown off the chassis on the Monitor Merricmac.
