Adjusted Gate Hours at VIG – November 14-15

Note from the TMTA President: Losing gate hours is never convenient. Even more so since we are at peak right now. However, this 14 hour closure is necessary. My understanding is that the maintenance – improvements made while the port is down will decrease turn times at VIG. This decision was discussed at length and VIT is attempting to give us as much notice as possible. Thank You, Marilynn Ryan

Port Partners,
Thanks to your trust and patronage, The Port of Virginia is processing record cargo volumes. We are humbled to report that October 2017 was the largest cargo volume month in the history of the port – 265,490 TEUs.

In order to ensure the safe and efficient flow of these record volumes, we are making a one-time adjustment to VIG’s gate hours to allow our team to safely focus on some intra-terminal adjustments to increase efficiencies.

Please be advised of the following:

• On Tuesday, November 14, truck gates at Virginia International Gateway (VIG) will CLOSE at 1600 hours (portal closure) with a hard stop at 1700 hours (one day only)
• On Wednesday, November 15, truck gates at VIG will OPEN at 0800 hours (one day only)
• All other terminals, including the PPCY, will observe standard operating hours on both dates

An electronic version of this announcement can be found here: Adjusted Gate Hours at VIG

Thank you for your flexibility. We are honored to handle your cargo.
